The Colorado Avalanche will face the San Jose Sharks tonight for game 3 of their series while the Nuggets will play game 2 against Portland tomorrow night. If the cost of the ticket is too much, head over to seatgeek.com, stubhub.com, or vividseats.com. On SeatGeek the cheapest ticket runs $100 in section 360. A fan can spend up to $768 for 1st row seats in section 128. At StubHub the cost is anywhere from $85 to $855. Vividseats.com ticket prices are between $92 and $353.
The Denver Nuggets look for a 2-0 series lead over Portland. To be in Pepsi Center according to altitudetickets.com will be from $57 to $374. On seatgeek.com those prices are $45 to $931. For StubHub a ticket costs anywhere from $50 to $995. Vividseats.com is $54 all the way up to $679.
There are plenty of reasons for the difference in cost between the Avalanche and the Nuggets. This marks the 2nd year in a row the Avalanche have made the postseason while this is the Nuggets 1st appearance since 2013. The Avalanche success in their history is better than the Nuggets with 2 Stanley Cups while the Nuggets have yet to win an NBA Championship.
The Pepsi Center holds more people for basketball. According to ESPN.com, the Nuggets had an attendance total of 19,520 for game 1. Compare that to the Colorado Avalanche whose last home game was game 4 of the 1st round against the Flames. They had 18,102 people for that game. There are about 1,400 more tickets for basketball than hockey. The Pepsi center has to take away seats so they can put up the boards for hockey which drives the price up. This gives an idea of how much it costs to see both teams in the playoffs at home.
