Miami Dolphins Dismiss Offensive Coordinator Bill Lazor, Promote Zac Taylor To The Position

The Miami Dolphins lost Sunday to the New York Jets 38-20. On Monday, they decided to fire Offensive Coordinator Bill Lazor because of the weak offensive showing. What kind of move is this?

The Miami Dolphins had a total of 333 yards on Sunday, 321 of those passing. They could not run the football, rushing for a total of 12 yards. In the game the Dolphins weren’t a balanced team, throwing 58 times and only running the football on 9 plays. Most of that had to do with the fact that they were behind. Third downs were also an issue as they were 4 of 15. The offense couldn’t stay on the field. Miami decided it was time to go in a different direction. Head Coach Dan Campbell promoted Zac Taylor to Offensive Coordinator.

According to ESPN, Head Coach Dan Campbell said, “We relieved Bill Lazor of his duties, and I appreciate everything that Bill has put into this and all the hard work and dedication that he gave to this organization and this offense. We just felt like it was time to move in another direction.”

This was not the right move for the Miami Dolphins. The offense didn’t play well against the New York Jets but they weren’t the only problem. The defense allowed 411 yards and 38 points. Miami also couldn’t stop the Jets offense on third downs.   They were 10 of 17, a conversion rate of 58% .

The team as a whole performed poorly this past Sunday. That is on Head Coach Dan Campbell. He is the one who prepares the team for football games. Instead of blaming himself, he decides that it’s another coach’s fault. Miami has many issues on both sides of the ball. Hopefully, they figure it out before the end of the year.

What do you think of the Dolphins firing their offense coordinator?
