NFL Fits For Quarterback Robert Griffin III

NFL free agency started today at 2 PM Mountain Time. Teams will begin talking to free agents. One quarterback who is on the move is Robert Griffin III. Griffin is a four-year veteran. There are a few teams he could end up playing with this season.

The Denver Broncos are a long shot to sign RG III. He is familiar with the system Gary Kubiack runs. He can bootleg and throw the football. Denver could be a landing spot because of his ability to run the offense. The downside is he is not an under center quarterback. Griffin is used to running plays out of the shotgun, but he can learn to be an under center quarterback.

The Cleveland Browns could use another quarterback. Coach Hue Jackson is in his first year in Cleveland and likes to use young quarterbacks. Jackson worked with Andy Dalton the last two years. Jackson would mold Griffin into a pocket quarterback which could be the difference in the Browns having a more successful season.

The Dallas Cowboys saw what life was like when Tony Romo was out for 12 games. Two other quarterbacks saw playing time last year, Kellen Moore and Matt Cassel. Cassel was the better of the two quarterbacks passing for 1,276 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. The Cowboys could never stick with one backup quarterback, they kept switching. If Griffin decides to go to the Cowboys, he won’t be a starter, but will be the backup to Tony Romo. At least Griffin would be an experienced backup. He would also be in the same state that he played his college football. This would be the ideal landing spot.

These are a few of the teams that might have interest in Robert Griffin III. Griffin will be playing this year. He can make plays happen but he takes too many risks. Whichever team picks him up needs to teach him how to slide and avoid the hits. Those hits might mean his season is over. He is a risk but one worth taking.

Where do you think Robert Griffin III will land?
