The Denver Broncos host the L.A. Rams on Sunday. The Rams are one of the hottest teams to start the season. They are 5-0. The Broncos are hoping to end a 3 game losing streak. Another loss and more pressure will be on General Manager John Elway to fire Head Coach Vance Joseph.
Joseph has been on the hot seat all year. A lot of chatter went away when the Broncos were 2-0. A 3 game losing streak and his job is at risk. Denver during the 2 game winning streak to start the season, looked like they were well coached. The defense was doing their job stopping opponents when it mattered especially late in game. The offense was doing their part to move the football down the field and allow the defense to rest.
In the 3 game skid, that has gone away. The Broncos’ defense isn’t sacking the quarterback, giving opponents time to throw the football. They are also letting teams gash them with big plays through the air equaling to 256.2 passing yards per game.
On the ground, Denver hasn’t been able to stop teams from running the football. This was obvious last week against the New York Jets, allowing 323 yards on the ground. Denver is second worst in the league stopping the run, giving up 139.6 yards per game. They aren’t stopping opponents from scoring giving up 26.2 points per game.
The Broncos look out coached. This is on Head Coach Vance Joseph. It seems like when he tries to adjust the game plan on offense and defense, it makes the team worse. When that occurs, Denver falls further behind on the scoreboard.
Head Coach Vance Joseph could be coaching for his job on Sunday. If they come out slow and perform poorly, the Broncos might be booed off the field which could signal the end is near for Joseph. If he isn’t fired after a 2-4 start, it will happen sometime during the year if they keep playing poorly. It will be a matter of time before Elway pulls the plug. A win though and the Broncos would be at .500 and it may save his job at least for another week.
