Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Starts Visiting Teams, Looks To Help A Franchise For Their Playoff Push

By Jordan Long

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is still a free agent.  He will now visit three teams, the Buffalo Bills, the New York Giants, and the Dallas Cowboys, starting with New York.  Which team makes the most sense as a landing spot?

The New York Giants have been one of the surprise teams this year.  They sit at 7-4.  New York could use another playmaker like Odell Beckham Jr.  Their wide receivers are Darius Slayton, Richie James, and Kenny Golladay.  Slayton leads the team with 476 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Adding Odell Beckham Jr. improves that receiving core and takes the pressure off Slayton.  Plus Daniel Jones, their quarterback, wouldn’t have to just key on Slayton.  Beckham Jr gives him another big target.

The problem with the Giants is even though their record is pretty good, they aren’t Super Bowl contenders.  Sure they could earn a playoff spot but even if they do it may be as a Wild Card team.  The Giants most likely would falter in the Wild Card round.   It wouldn’t make sense to add Beckham Jr. for the rest of the year if they aren’t going to go far.

Dallas is in a better position to earn a playoff spot. They are 8-4.  The Cowboys adding Beckham Jr. would increase their chances of moving on in the postseason.  Dallas has one of the better quarterbacks in the league, Dak Prescott.  He is willing to dish the ball around.  The wide receiver core, includes CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup as the two main receivers.  Beckham Jr. is another receiver who Prescott would look for early and often.  Lamb and Gallup wouldn’t have to be the two playmakers.

Although Dallas is in a better position to earn a playoff spot than New York, again, it would also be as a Wild Card team.  They may make it further than the Giants. Just like the Giants though, they aren’t Super Bowl contenders.  Adding Beckham Jr. wouldn’t help them get over the hump.

The team that makes the most sense out of all three are the Buffalo Bills.  They stand at 8-3, tied for first place in the AFC North Division. Not only are they trying to win the division and earn the 1st seed in the AFC playoffs.  This is currently led by  Kansas City who has a 9-3 record.

The Bills have an MVP candidate at quarterback, Josh Allen.  Allen has one dangerous receiver in  Stefon Diggs.  Diggs is his go to receiver.  If Diggs is covered sure he can toss the ball to Gabe Davis and Isaiah McKinzie but adding Beckham Jr. to the Bills would force defenders to decide which receiver they want to cover between Diggs and Beckham Jr.  Allen would read the defenses and find the open target.

The Bills are one of the teams built for a Super Bowl run.  Beckham Jr adds to that. They may be the favorite to land him.

Beckham Jr. will meet with these teams and decide where to play.  Most likely, Beckham Jr. will be on a franchise for the rest of the year to help them do something special in the playoffs with the goal of ending in a Super Bowl victory.  The decision is his.
